Southernest island of the Cyclades, Santorini (Thira) is a volcano which sank down after many irruptions, leting the sea seeping in his center by the north and the south-west.
Usually dropping with the sun, offering little shadow (excepting some vines, the vegetation is rare), the island inspires modesty.
Following the crater, we can have an idea of what the german philosopher Kant (XVIII
th century) called the "sublime" : the feeling of the absolutely great in front of the force of nature, feeling that we experience even when the sea is quiet and everything invite at serenity.
